The explanation seems impossible or even unreal, but someone has done it!  Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada has created The Wooden Light Bulb, a  solid wood LED device with a new attraction by means of traditional craft techniques.

How was it made you may ask?

Well, The Wooden Light Bulb is wrapped by a wooden shell, which is then chipped until minimum thickness with the Japanese Rokuro technique.  The socket of The Wooden Light Bulb  features aluminum, which blends well with the wooden design to create a modern impression. Combining craftiness and modern style The Wooden Light Bulb is well deserving of the  Kyoto renaissance design award.
