A new restaurant fad in Vienna is taking the pizza oven to a new level, mamma mia. No longer is the pizza oven a round object with a dull beige color. It has been the heart of the many businesses for countless years and you will rarely see it decorated, until now. This particular Vienna based pizzeria transports its customers into the realm of the “Italo-Disco” era of the 1970s and 80s.
This pizza oven upgrade has transformed an Italian monument into a giant disco ball with a rotating mechanism. The outer shell is made from a heat resistant concrete that was produced via CNC-milling technology and covered in approximately 7,500 specially cut mirror tiles. All of which was designed by a young Vienna architecture firm, madamemohr, with a goal fabricate and not just design. The reflective exterior allows for the shell to blend and reflect light.
