This fish inspired lamp collection from the designer Frank Gehry can be seen at the Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills and later in Paris. The Fish Lamp series is composed of jagged scales of ColorCore Formica that have been mounted onto a fish shaped wireframe. The interior light from within turns this sculpture into a texture glowing fish masterpiece.
This collection is an extension of the artist’s first series made between 1984 and 1986 when Frank found inspiration while working on a commissioned piece for Formica back in the 80s. After dropping a piece of Fomica ColorCore it shattered into pieces, the broken pieces inspired Frank with vision of fish scales. The series has grown into what you see today.
